For the souls of many, one was lost
Paid the ultimate price there is
To save the land, your blood was spilled
Our unknown gem, our unsung hero
Dear Old Soldier.
I’ve never been in the face of bullets
But the movies tell of your sacrifices
The pains you took for us to stand
As a nation with honor, however little
You lost your soul in saving ours
Dear Old Soldier.
Your name may not be in history books
Your story might never see the light of day
Your toils may not yield in your presence
Your work however, is forever appreciated
But for you, we might not be
Dear Old Soldier.
My wish for kids you birthed or didn’tp
My prayer for every soul that is your kin
I hope they enjoy the fruit of your labor
And go past heights you might have wished
And should be strong when they miss you
Dear Old Soldier.
And to those who make your sacrifice worthless
Who make suffer, the people you died for
Who reap your fruit by bastard means
I pray they find death more painful than yours
And rot in places badder than hell
Dear Old Soldier.
Our unknown gem, Our unsung hero
One with courage not many possess
Who saved the nation pulling his trigger
Died with valor, saving millions
I pray you find rest wherever you are
Dear Old Soldier.
